Take a leisurely stroll to Bridal Veil Falls

Along Mpumalang's scenic Panorama Route, which is known for the forestry industry and its many breath-taking waterfalls, lies the particularly pretty Bridal Veil Falls. This part of South Africa is green and verdant, with natural attractions that rival some of the finest in the country, thanks to their diversity and the abundance of fauna and flora. The Sabie Waterfall Route connects eight of the most spectacular waterfalls of Mpumalanga, the province with the most waterfalls in the country. Bridal Veil Falls boasts a 70 metre drop, and visitors look on in awe and wonder as the power of water is seen in its rawest form. Still, the misty spray and elegant thundering are mysteriously and undeniably beautiful too. It is this contradiction that continues to lure people to the falls to be a part of their unadulterated majesty. The falls are a mere six kilometres from the little town of Sabie, which is known for its relaxed vibe and pretty surrounds. There is a path through indigenous forests between the parking lot and the Bridal Veil Falls, enabling visitors to see the beauty of the landscape from different facets and perspectives before reaching the falls. This walk is less than a kilometre long and is most rewarding for its beauty, flowers, streams, ferns, and photo opportunities. However, it is challenging in places, and should not be tackled by the elderly, infirm, or very little ones. A very small entrance fee is required and public ablutions are available. The area around the waterfall may be quiet and serene, but there is certainly no shortage of fun things to do and see. These include mountain biking, white-water rafting, hiking, rock climbing, abseiling, bird watching, and fly fishing. The love for the South African and African cultures is also evident in the many curios, arts, crafts, and mementoes on sale in the region. This assures tourists of the opportunities to get wonderful keepsakes for their friends and family back home.
